“Losing weight was so much easier when I had mono,” said Susanne during sixth-period study hall in the cafeteria.
Madsy and I usually sat by ourselves, but Susanne had been asking me to draw her. Madsy didn’t want to study alone so she joined us.
We claimed a round table and spread out our books and notebooks. Susanne immediately started reading a fashion magazine that she hid inside her biology textbook.
We weren’t allowed to read non-educational magazines at school, but the magazine-in-textbook technique was especially popular during study hall.
